August 2009; Dahlia got to go to church at the young age of 2 months old. She grew and grew, but was still so little. She kept me busy from thinking about Beau too much and kept me company when I needed it. I had my horse show at the County Fair. I got Beau's pre-phase report at the end of month. Dahlia turned 3 months and Beau turned 19 months.
September 2009; I competed at State Presentations and got to hang with some other puppy raising friends. Dahlia had her first experience at the beach and loved it. On September 21st we made an emergency trip the vet emergency at 12:00 AM and discovered that Dahlia had kennel cough. Those first few days were awful and I felt helpless for my little girl. Dahlia turned 4 months and Beau turned 20 months.
October 2009; Dahlia had her first Walk 'n' Talk and did amazing. She even got her coat at almost 4 months old! Dahlia turned 5 months and Beau turned 21 months.
November 2009; Dahlia had her first road trip to my cousins house. She did amazing and had a great time even though we came back and I found a tick on Dahlia. :P lol I also got to visit Beau while we were visiting my cousins house and I loved it. He was soooo excited to see me and I was just as excited and happy to see him! :) Dahlia had her first Thanksgiving and enjoyed the day by sleeping and playing. I got Beau's phase 2 report on 11/4/09. Dahlia turned 6 months and Beau turned 22 months.
December 2009; We attended many Christmas plays and Dahlia had some play dates with her buddies too. She celebrated her first Christmas with me and had a blast. I got Beau's phase 1 report on 12/2/09 (this was an old one that I never got to read) and I got his phase 4 report on 12/18/09. Getting his phase 4 report was the best Christmas present ever! :) Dahlia turned 7 months and Beau turned 23 months.
January 2010; We puppy sat Gabriel & Joy and I did my first puppy switch with Dahlia. I got a golden named Mia (had her IFT in February and is now a GEB brood!). I fell in love with her so much that I want to raise a golden some day. It was a pretty normal month.
February 2010; We puppy sat Noel and Faith; competed at 4-H county public presentations, had an “Olympics” puppy class where we did things like downhill skiing (the pups had to go up and down an “A” frame), pairs skating (we practiced follow me), and other fun things. Dahlia also went on a home switch. I got Susie (a female yellow lab) and Dahlia went to Susie’s house.
March 2010; Dahlia went on another home switch and I got Leo (a male yellow lab). March Dahlia went into heat so she didn’t really go anywhere for most of the month. March was also when Beau graduated!!!!!! At the end of the month Dahlia and I went to a school to talk about puppy raising.
April 2010; We puppy sat Joy (FLY), Diana (FGSD), Pacer (MYL), Noel (FGLAB), and Murphy (MGR who is not a GEB puppy). Dahlia also went on another home switch and I got Dustin (MYL). Dahlia and I spent a day at Pacer’s raisers cottage, we went to 4-H meetings, the bowling alley, and did “Reading with Dogs” at the library.
May 2010; Dahlia turned ONE!!!!!! We puppy sat Murphy again, Jolene (FYL guide from GDB), and Hosta (FBL) for most of the month. We also watched Frannie (FBL) for a few days. Dahlia had her last Walk and Talk and we had fun visiting with family. Dahlia even got to go to the airport a few days and did amazing! We also walked in the parade during a local festival.
June 2010; We watched Hosta for pretty much the whole month and we watched Narissa (FGR). We finished up school and had fun doing things outside in the lovely summer weather like swimming!
