Internship news :)

Well, in just 10 days I will be heading to GEB for my first real internship!! :) I just got my schedule for what I will be doing and I can't wait to do it!! :) It is subject to change, but right now here is what it is. :)
Every day I will feed the pups and the adult breed and breed eval dogs, clean the kennels, take the dogs up to the Big Dog Area, feed the puppies and clean their papers and give them water, work with the staff and adult dogs do checkovers kennel chores and do stuff in the big room with the puppies, and then feed the adults again in the afternoon and clean the runs. :) Then on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday I get to do socialization with different litters of puppies. Also, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday I have level training. And on Tuesday and Thursday I have stuff with the breed eval dogs too. I can't wait!!! :)

December fun # 1

Hello!
Well, the month of Decemeber is fully underway! And the fun is just starting!!!!! On the 6th our region had their annual Christmas party! It was a ton of fun and Whitley got some fun toys!!! :D
Then on the 10th (Friday night) we went to a school play. It was Annie and Whitley did pretty good! She slept through pretty much the whole thing and her only problems were that she pulled some on the way in and she sniffed some as we were leaving, but other then that she was great!
On the 11th we went to my friend's voice recital and again Whitley was amazing!!!!

I've been watching a golden named Narissa (she is 9 months old) since last Wednesday and I took her to pre-placement class Wednesday night and then Thursday she came into heat.... so then I couldn't take her anywhere..... but she's been playing a lot with Whitley so she's still having fun. She leaves today. Yesterday I started watching a pet dog named Jack. He is about 8 years old. He will be here until next Saturday.

I don't have any pictures because I can't download my camera.... :/ hopefully I can for the next post! Bye!

Internship/Volunteering!

When I was at GEB for Dahlia's IFT I got to volunteer and one of the workers said to me that if I wanted to I could come to volunteer for a longer period of time sometime. So after emailing back and forth with her I then got in touch with the Kennel Manager and I will be going to the GEB Canine Devolopment Center January 9th, 2011-January 16th, 2011!!! I'm SOOOO excited!!! Whitley gets to come too and I'm going to get to meet her brother Woodruff and his raiser and see a lot of friends! And also, I'll get to meet Beau's (my 1st pup) sister, Babe who is a brood for GEB! And I'm going to see Mia, a golden I did a switch with when I had Dahlia and that's when I fell in love with goldens. She is also a brood now so I'm excited to see her too! :D

Dahlia at GEB!!!!

A friend of mine took her pup, Emily, back to GEB in November and she got pictures of Dahlia for me!!! I love both of these pictures because she looks silly, funny, and like she is having fun! Typical Dahlia... :) She is in Phase 1 right now and I'm hoping to get an update on her again soon!!!

On the 29th we had puppy class in the M. Region (my region). We were in the Puppy Group (this was our last week) and we talked about house manners and holiday hazzards. Whitley settled pretty well. She is SUCH an easy going dog!!!! Pacer and his raiser rode to class with us. :)

On the 30th we had puppy class in the G. Region (my friend's region). We went to a local mall to soialize and have the G. Region pups pictures with Santa. Whitley was great with all the people and she did pretty good on her sit stay for the Santa picture. :) Enjoy the pictures above!

November #3 - THANKSGIVING!!!!!

Cori & Whitley
Whitley eating her Thanksgiving treat!

Dressing up for Thanksgiving! :)

Whitley had a great thanksgiving! She started out the day by playing with my aunt's dog Cori. :) Then we went to my sisters' boyfriends house for supper. After that we came home and she got her special treat, a Frosty Paws! :) After that I took some Thanksgiving pics of her and that was it. We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

November #2 - OCC shopping!

Every year we participate in Operation Christmas Child which is where you buy things and pack them into a shoe box. :) You buy toys, tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, wash cloth, candy, school supplies, and other fun things! After you pack the box it gets shipped to another place and then shipped to kids in third world countries and they get a Christmas box and learn about Jesus. :) anyway, Whitley came shopping with us and did really good. She had some trouble at one store, but other then that she did great!!!!! The 1st picture is of her sleeping after a full day of shopping and the second on is of her at a store. :)

November #1 - puppy vest and big kennel!

On November 5th Whitley had her first Walk and Talk, kind of like an evaluation. She did AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My RM said she did very well and she earned her Puppy Vest!!!!!! With GEB the pup and the raiser have to earn the coat together and Whitley did wonderfully with me and so we got her coat! :D

Also, at the beginning of the month she got moved into her large "adult" kennel. :( She's getting so big!!!

My girl Whitley :)

Here are two pictures of my girl. One is of her posing in my house and the other is her outside in my back yard :) Isn't she cute and so big now???

Puppy Class fun!

At one puppy class I got to take pictures of each dog with the harness and then with a western saddle for our Christmas pictures. Here are Whitley's pictures :)

October randomness #2

Those four pictures above are from when we took Gabriel and Whitley on an Apple Tasting tour! :) They both got to meet and see lots of people, they met some animals, and the got to work a lot on grass which can be distracting.

Whitly (above and below) sleeping on my school bag :)

Update post #1 - random October things

Whitley at the horse barn

In October on the 13th we went to a library dinner for our local libraries. Whitley did amazing for her age! She slept through most of it, then I took her outside to "GB", and then we came back inside and she hung out for the rest of the time. :)

**picture #4**

On the 16th we went to one of my sister's XC meets and she did pretty good. It was at the this park with lots of smells, people, kids, and other dogs so I didn't make her "work" too much since she was so little and it was a lot of work. At that meet she also got to meet one of my aunt and cousins. :)

**picture #3**

On the 19th we did three huge things, and Gabriel (another GEB pup who was 13 months) came to us for a 2 week long puppy sit. First we had a Disability Awareness Day at a local school. Whitley was there, so was Gabriel, and then retired guide Flame also came. :) After that we went to a tourist spot in the city closest to me and walked Gabe and Whit around. It's a great place to socialize because there is lots of city traffic, blowing leaves :), different underfootings, and this look out that is like 3 stories off the ground! Gabe did pretty good, he is a little nervous of certain stairs, but he still did great. Whit did wonderful!!!!!! Well, except for chasing the leaves. ;) After that we got supper and then we went to a volleyball game with a fellow puppy raiser and her dog, Yolanda.

That's it for the random October things. :)
