PUPPIES!!!

Halsa had her puppies!!!! On July 26th she had 5 puppies, but the 2nd puppy got stuck and they had to do an emergency c-section and puppy 2 and 3 died which was sad. :( But three lived!!!! 2 girls and 1 boy and they are all black! yay! The litter letter is P and it sounds like one girl is going to be named Patty and the boy is named Paske (spelling? It might be Pakse). The boy is a special name puppy I guess. lol I'll post when I know the names for sure! I'm excited to get a black lab, out of 6 (7 if you count Ben) only one has been black, Whitley!

Graduation - seeing Toby!

While we were at graduation we got to go on a kennel tour and I got to see Toby! :) He looks great and maybe in abut 5 months I'll be going back to GEB for HIS graduation! ;)

Graduation - puppy transport!

We got to bring back 6 puppies after graduation! 4 black labs (Kyle, Kisco, Kaylin, and Hilda) and two German Shepherds (Pike and Prism). We dropped Pike off after driving for about 3 hours. Then we drove another 45 mins and dropped Prism off. Then another hour to drop Kyle, Kisco, and Kaylin off. And then the last 30 mins home and Hilda's raiser met us at our house. :)

Graduation - Whitley! :)

Graduation was awesome! :) I was so excited to see Whitley again and meet her partner!
Whitley went CRAZY when she saw us! :) And her partner, Chris, is great. And he wants to stay in touch which I'm super happy about!!!! Here's the pictures!

Checking things off the list

Well, preperations to leave for Guiding Eyes are getting done. The car is cleaned, the gas tank has been filled (although I'll have to top it off tomorrow night on my way home from dropping Teddy and Ben off at the sitter's), the kennels are set up in my car for transporting 6 puppies back, the rabbit cage is cleaned :), and Whitley and her partner's graduation gifts have been bought. Tomorrow I just have to finish packing my bag, finishing loading up the car, drop Ben, Teddy, and Dahlia off at sitter's, and wrap Whitley's presents. Can't believe graduation is in 3 days!!!!

It's time....

It's hard to believe that Ben is old enough, but.... he is. He's old enough to go back to Guiding Eyes for the Blind. :( His IFT date is scheduled for October 30th so we will be driving him down on October 28th. I'm sad, but really excited too. haha I'm excited because this is what we've been working towards getting him ready for since June 29th, and I know he's going do great! He currently has the drive to be a guide dog, the nose to be an ATF, MSA, or CT Police dog, and the loving cuddling personality to be a Heeling Autism dog, or you know if he doesn't feel like working he can be our pet dog. ;) But I do hope he becomes a guide dog. We're going to miss this guy and it's been awesome to have my Mom raising a guide dog along with me! Love you Mom, thanks for being such an inspiration and awesome lady!

Relay for Life Walk 2012 (and other summer fun)

Wednesday was the first "Firefly" concert at the local library so we took Teddy, Dahlia, and Ben. :)

Teddy came to the library to tie dye with me on the 13th!

July 14th we did a Relay for Life walk at a local high school. Ben and Teddy came with us and did SOOO well!!! We walked for a long time (total of 17 laps around the track) and I was impressed with how well Teddy did at keeping a good pace and not falling too far behind. Maybe he does have the drive to be a guide dog. :)
