GREAT news!!!

Remember this black lab who graced my house for almost 3 months last summer? Her name was Hosta and her raiser got sick, so after being bounced around for a little while I got her for 3 months until a finisher raiser took her. Well, she went in for IFT March of 2011 and I just found out that she is graduating this month!!!!!! :D I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited!!! I REALLY want to go, but I can't :( so I'm going to hopefully get pictures from her finisher raiser. Way to go HOSTA!!! I knew you could do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kinda bad news...

So, on July 12th I got the dreaded phone call..... Dahlia had been released........ I couldn't believe it. How did she go through one month of breed eval; 9 months of harness training; matched for a week in the June class and then returned to training; and then went out to home training on July 6th and then get released? The answer is, she started to have bad house manners. I.e. jumping on counters and stealing pillows off of the couch. GEB released her for that and my RM said it could have been stress induced. So after 9 days she was tested to be a detection dog and they didn't want her so I had the option to take her back and after thinking about it for a couple seconds ;) I decided I'd take her back! :) So I happened to be at the Breeding Kennel when she was totally released so Saturday the 23rd RM Nicole took me to the training school to pick up Dahlia. :) And she's been doing great since!

it's been a while!

So we've been VERY busy! I should of posted something on Whitley's birthday, but I didn't. She turned one on July 6th! :) We had a birthday party with a couple of other dogs. :) We also had a good bye play date for Ned and Narissa because they went in for IFT in July. Here are some other highlights of July and the beginning of August. :) Reading with Whitley at the library where kids came to read for 15 mins. I had a horse show that Whitley came to. July 17th-August 1st we were at another internship at the GEB Breeding Kennel and Whitley got to meet up with her mom, Wren, again; we saw lots of friends including the lady who did Home Litter Care with Whitley's litter. Since we've been home Whitley's come to work with me, we've gone to puppy class, and had fun doing play dates and other outings. :)
